[Slice of Life] Beyond the Myth
#11
Arryn noticed the hooded person had followed her, she let out a crooked smile. She got up from kneeling and took off her hood that exposed her long blonde hair and short pointed ears. Her soft pale skin stood out against the field of yellow flowers. Her silver eyes pierced the darkness of the woods staring right at the hooded person.
"Why have you been following me? Have you come to take me home?" she said in a soft foreign accent that was much different than any humans. "I must warn you, I won't go down easy." she extends her left hand as a large circle of glyphs form in the air rotating clockwise, a second inner circle formed spinning counter clockwise.

Another Elf? I raised my brow at the discovery-- this wasn't what I wanted at all. What did she even mean "take her home"? I shook my head, before walking forward, taking my hand off the tree.
"Take it easy," I said, my Elvish accent very slight in my naturally soft tone. "I know nothing of your clan; I actually thought you were a human." I slid off my hood then, revealing my piercingly golden eyes and silvery pale skin. My hair was thick, long and black. I brushed it out of my cloak and over my left shoulder with my hand. "I followed you to see what humans do during this stupid festival every year." I then tilted my head, keeping my palms straight. "I request you end the runes; I don't wish to combat." I studied the runes as they animated. Some of them looked like fire... others were too foreign for me to understand.

Arryn ended her glyphs and put her arm down. "An Elf from another clan you say, an interesting development." She studied the other elf for markings that would indicate otherwise but couldn't find any. "I too have came to observe the humans in this festivity. My bo...." she caught herself thinking back on the memory again. "My dear friend told me about it before and I wanted to see it for myself." She moved closer to the other elf. "Im sorry, I didnt catch your name. My name is Arryn Trislana, daughter of Anenduil Trislana."

When I saw the glyphs fade away, I relaxed my hands and came to an ease. Thankfully they weren't bullheaded like the humans. As she explained why she came to this festival, I noticed her slip in a sentence before correcting herself. This caught my attention and resulted in an eyebrow raising. I wouldn't question it, as they clearly changed their wording for a reason.
"Pleasure, Miss Trislana," I replied. "I am Yoruko Yuukaze, daughter of Kaminari Yuukaze." I paused a moment. "So, this 'dear friend' of yours... how did they know of the festival?"

The memory flashed in her head again. She held back her tears as she explained. "My friend use to visit this town often. They would come back to me, telling me all different stories of what humans do here. His stories would bring me joy. After his....untimely, death I decided I would venture to this human town and see it myself." This brought a question to her mind as she was explaining. "What brings another Elf to these parts? You seem to be from a clan I'm not familiar with."

The mention of this friend of hers frequenting this town made my brow remain raised as my interest was piqued. As far as I knew, the humans only cared to be around other humans... was this 'friend' of hers...?
"Every year this festival comes, I see the carriages carrying the supplies to the city," I began. "I was always curious as to what the humans did to 'celebrate' something that came every year, so I decided to take a ride." I shrugged. "So far, all I see is the occasion giving those bugs another excuse to further drown themselves in their own poison." I made sure to put emphasis in my sentence to see how she would react. Given the cloak and the 'untimely death' of this friend of hers, I was able to draw a few conclusions. Her reaction would be the best way to validate any of them, if any at all.

Arryn twitched at the way Yoruko called the humans as bugs. She wanted to yell at her but she knew how most Elves thought. Elves and humans should never interact with each other. They are two separate species, both with their own agenda. Elves lived longer and a relationship between the two would only end in heartbreak. She knew all this but why, why did she have to go and fall in love with that human boy. Arryn couldn't be mad at this girl for calling humans bugs, shes been brainwashed by her elders just like how she was. Maybe given time around them she would come around to her side, maybe even enjoy her time here.
"We must wait for night, thats when they shoot exploding fire into the sky. Meanwhile why don't we go back to town and see the shops and find what the best of human craftsmanship can offer?"

I smirked as I noticed Arryn twitch. My conclusion was only further validated by her attempt to shift away from the subject. I brought a hand to my hip, letting my posture show the conclusion I came to.
"Alright," I said, my smirk ever present. "Though, you should tell me of your human friend tonight, while we watch the exploding fire." My smirk grew wider then. "Unless they're not a human? Perhaps a species that somehow sneaked into the everyday lives of the humans?" I truly wasn't aiming to really trigger the Elf, but my clan was not one to be secretive... which is why I was quiet the rogue of it...

Arryns face grew bright red with her face showing extreme suprise. "H-How?" She calmed her self down knowing that there was no reason to hide it anymore. "Fine I'll tell you tonight. Come, I hear they eat pig in a form of what they call bacon."

A feeling of satisfaction came over me as the Elf admitted her relation to a human. I then nodded to her proposal.
"I will admit," I said passively. "I don't know what a pig is. Was that the browned thing in the sandwich I had at the poison drinking building?" I chuckled then. "Humans will eat anything..." I then smiled to Arryn. "Lead the way. Maybe you could tell me a bit about yourself along the way."
