[Pony] Vintage Wine
#11
Ateren enjoyed having a pony to talk to, even if he feels guilty about not saying anything about being a stallion. "Today? Are you in need of a room mate? Because I've pretty much been bouncing city to city myself. Could go for having an actual place to stay." He said, rubbing the back of his neck.

The mare at the counter had this really wide grin. "EXCELLENT! ...AH! This book... TONS of ponies have been wanting to read this book. It got checked in just the other day. Finished the shelving process a few hours ago. H-Heheheh." She said, her eye twitching. Quite eccentric this one is. She at nearly lightning speeds, without sacrificing quality, scanned the book on that metal pad thing with arrows on it and tippy tapped on a few things and gave out a complimentary book marker. "It'll be due in three weeks~" She said hoofing it back.

I thought for a moment at Atty's offer.
"You know," I began, before smiling to her. "It would be nice to have company this time around. I usually use the second room as a craftsroom, but I'm sure I can scatter it elsewhere." When the rather eccentric Unicorn hastily checked out the book to me, my ears pinned back a little. "Um, thank you." I said slowly. I wasn't used to such speeds yet. I used my magic to pick it up, before looking at it with a smile. "I'll likely have read it at least twice by then." I looked to the Pegasus mare then. "Let's go, I need to move the stuff out of the other room." I took a step forward then, before recoiling a little. "Ooh.." I sounded before slightly pointing to Atty. "Do you... have anything you need to pick up? I wouldn't want you to have to move it all yourself."

Ateren smiled, he actually was going to room in with some pony this time! When she asked about his stuff he bit his lip. "Oh... u-uh... my stuff is in a caravan of sorts by Executive Cheddar. I'd rather not show my face too much though." She said, blushing a tad as she rubbed the back of her neck.

I rose a brow at Atty's desire to not go near the Executive Cheddar-- it was a pretty nice place for a good drink or two on a bad day. After a moment, I shrugged it off.
"Well, alright," I passively said. "We can go get it a bit later, if you'd like." With that, I headed out the door before lowering my left ear and using my magic to reach behind it, pulling out a small sheet of slightly yellowed paper. I unfolded it to show the map on it-- a map of the city. There was a very thin line of ink circling a certain part of the city, and my eyes trained on it for a moment, looking at what's around it. After a moment, I nodded, folding it up and placing it behind my ear again. "Alright, follow me."

A short bit into the walk toward the apartment, I looked to the mare, desiring to cut the silence.
"So," I began. "Tell me a bit about yourself, Miss Ateren." I smirked a little. "Unless you're too shy, which I'll start to help open you up."

He gave a nervous chuckle. "Yeah, um... tons of stallions wanted me to drink when I didn't want to. Then I fled through the vents. So, I'd rather not head there now. H-heh." He said, despite her offering to bring it up later. After some silence he heard her ask about himself. When he heard about the too shy bit he blushed brightly. "S-Shy? I-I'm not /that/ shy..." He puckered up a bit while in thought before saying "Okay maybe just a little... B-But regardless I'm a bit of an inventor. I invent 'things.' "

I giggled a bit at the sound of Atty being surrounded by drunken stallions, attempting to make her drink.
"You know, that doesn't sound too far off," I said playfully. "Stallions around here can be a bit pushy about what they want." I couldn't help but smile about her blushing and shyness-- it reminded me a lot of a few friends and family I had back home. "An inventor, eh?" I took up a playful tone. "You seem awfully shy to be an inventor-- how would you debut your inventions to the public?" I giggled again. "I'm sure you have your ways. Maybe you could show me some of your inventions sometime."

Ateren walked a bit awkwardly beside her. "I just hope what they want is just to party, because I'd rather not be surrounded by stallions on a drunken basis." He said, blushing. When she asked about his inventions, his ears perked up. "Oh! Well, I mess around with a lot of wood, steel and what not. Making stuff that possibly makes life easier and what not."

I playfully stuck out my tongue as she talks about the drunken ponies, and her hopes of what it would and would not result in.
"I dunno," I playfully replied. "Drunks aren't anything like their sober selves." At the mention of what she worked with, I smiled a bit wider to her. "Wood is always fun to work with, though I've only constructed pre-existing appliances with it."

He nods. "Woodshop is alright. I just like using wood as a framing device. And it's pretty light in some cases. Plus, I kind of like the smell of cut wood." He said with a smile. "So... where is your apartment?" He asked as he looked around the big city.

I nodded as the Pegasus spoke, taking in each word she said.
"My apartment," I said, before pausing and smiling. "Our apartment, is just around this corner." As we rounded the corner, a rather nice looking building stood before them. It looked fairly high quality, with a fairly fresh looking paint job and a very tidy space in the area. "They insisted that I get put in a higher end apartment here." I said, rolling my eyes. "Said my record was too good for a Casual." I then began walking toward the building, expecting Atty to follow.
