[Fantasy/Gore] Rift Between Realms
#31
Lunas is left alone there again.

"...Right then."

He's already had more than he wants to deal with today. Rather than stay out he decides he'd rather just head home. Nothing wierd ever happens there.

What a Mystery

I quietly get out of the car and set the GRM on my back as I go to save the mother. I glance over at the 'guard' and her- Still didn't know her name. At any time this may go wrong, I'll pull my GRM and aim for him. There's no way I'm going to let her die on me, not while I still got questions for her.

I took in the situation as it unraveled in front of me. That one passenger who probably saved the others had a hammer, apparently... and threw it at the C-Class. Perfect leverage for me. As soon as it fell, I rushed toward him, slamming him into the wall with enough strength to crack it a bit as I held my sickle to its neck.
"You have no leverage on me," I said in a dark tone as I stared into its eyes, my own completely empty of emotion. "You are scum of the underworld." A crooked smile then crept onto my face. "Now I'll give you a choice: Pop out of that disguise and take your punishment, or suffer something worse than the High Council could ever dream of punishing you with." My sickle began getting colder -- or seeming so, as I started absorbing the thermal energy from its body, weakening the disguise's durability. "Choose now, or I'll choose for you."

Ateren took a breath of relief when the officer reached the mother. He went over to the car and picked up his hammer. He was NOT leaving this thing behind. He sheathed it onto his back once more and watched the rest unfold. Meanwhile the C-Class was becoming frantic. Looking for some way to run away. He desperately reached out but gave up. "Y-Yeah yeah..." He said before abandoning his disguise. He looked like he wanted to say something really bad towards her but decided not to push it.

Once the C-Class gave up, the body he hid within exploded in my face. It was nothing I wasn't used to, but it was a gruesome sight for the poor kid, I'm sure. My smile faded and went back to its blankness as I stared at the C-Class' true form. It was hideous, just like every other demon. Thankfully the humans can't see demons, or there would be havoc long before I came to the overworld. I lifted my sickle, and ran it hard through the C-Class, showing no visible remorse. It made the process faster. The visible purple wisps took it down into the underworld, and the dry burning sound resonated as my sickle faded into my hand. I looked to the people in the area, an confirmed they were all humans. Afterward, I turned to the man with the plasma thing as my brow furrowed.
"Why the fuck didn't you obey me?" I nearly shouted at him. "That civilian could have been damaged or have traces to another target!" I walked up to him and grabbed him by his shirt, pulling him close to me so I could stare him dead in the eye. My eyes were still empty, but my brow showed anger. "Do you have any clue what we're dealing with here? Who do you think you are!?"

I knew I was in deep shit after all of this was done, but I didn't care. I had a job to do, and now she's part of it. The moment she grabbed me by my shirt a flashback of when I was little appeared which made me flinch slightly. I sigh and spoke in a respectful tone, "To be completely honest, of course not. I have no clue what I'm dealing with, nor what I'm about to face. To you and to everyone else, I'm a nobody, just like you are to the city, in the shadows. I don't expect to have any real intention of hurting you, as I've seen what you've done and how beneficial you truly are. I'm just merely trying to be a partner to you in some way. You apparently seemed to be scared of the GRM, so if you're scared that pretty much means any other, 'demon' should be scared as well, right? I'm just trying to help both you and the city out, so cut me some slack that I followed you and thought you might need some back up." I sigh for a moment to think of a closing. "The name's Joey, by the way. Sergeant First Class Joey La."

Ateren recoiled from the explosion. He froze there for a moment, processing what had happened. But he wasn't as effected considering what that guy just tried to do. "...Hm..." He thought on what all had happened. It finally caught up to him how tired he is. He had a headache and wasn't feeling the best. He looked over to the officer and the other one and listened on their conversation. From what he heard, he could at least trust that they wouldn't try to kill him without a reason. He waited for the officer to finish talking before heading over to them and folding his arms. He deserved some answers of his own and they seem to have it.

I stared at the officer - Joey La - for a moment, before my brow furrowed further.
"If you wanted to be a sidekick," I started. "Then why didn't you listen to me!?" I pushed him away, but with normal human strength. "Yes, they're afraid of that thing. It will wipe them from fucking existence, Joey. Do you have any idea how much agonizing pain you go through while having each and every one of your atoms individually separated into pure thermal energy, Joey? Do you know the pure torture of being slowly wiped from existence, Joey?" I clenched my teeth before noticing the human with the hammer near us. I almost yelled at him, but decided to calm down, since he saved me from having to deal with a worse situation. Instead, I let out an exasperated sigh. "May I help you?" I asked curtly. I didn't intend to sound like such a bitch, but I was already dealing with a lot of shit.

I stayed calm for as long as I can. From her yelling to the flashbacks, I was going through even more Hell. My thoughts begin to flow through the answers. "As if I cared about existing anymore, I have a mission and It's either I succeed or not. No worrying about living or dying." As much as I'd like to answer them, I tried to stay quiet and respectful towards her, knowing that she wasn't human, nor did she truly understand. I don't want to be a sidekick to her, but I still want to help her out. I waited for anything else, I didn't care anymore at this point.

Ateren took the curt remark rather well. "I don't mean to intrude. But what's this talk about demons?" He asked going pretty much straight to the question. Despite looking exhausted, his eyes showed strength and compassion. "But before you answer, I'd like to say thank you for the help." he said giving them a smile. Smiles are always welcome, especially since a lot has just happened.
