[Fantasy/Gore] Defenders of the Forgotten Kingdom
#31
A cold drop of sweat falls from my back as I began to see the results of me coming out of hiding. "I understand that, which is why I brought this as evi-" I begin to say until a stray lightning bolt hits one of the beings nearby. I jump from merely the noise, quickly rushing to his aid out of instinct. "Are you okay?" I say before checking to see if he was okay. I sigh in relief to feel him breathing still. I turn towards the other beings in the space around. "We need to get to shelter. Please, if you want I'll stay in the middle and guide whoever wants to be infront, I'll give you my weapon to show you I'm friendly, anything, just as long as we get to safety." I say with concern in my voice.

As Joseph talked, Elias was about to respond with a witty remark before feeling his hair stick up from the lightning bolt hitting someone around. He quickly covered himself, before realizing that the hood could catch on fire. He blushes a bit from his idiotic move and moves it out of the way, hoping no one noticed. As Joseph talked, he had no other choice but to take the side of the group. He looked around, then back at Joseph. "Well.. If he's lying, I get to stab him first. Then I'm in." He gives Joseph a big smirk, knowing just how much he's getting under his skin.

Valldrake was right beside the person who pretty much got struck by the bolt. He stumbled forward instinctively trying to get out of the way. Ateren flinched before saying. "Yeah... uh. That sounds nice and all, but I'm find shelter immediately." He wasn't having it. He grew increasingly annoyed of the odd occurrences. He quickly stood up and fled away from the group with the high-elf. Valldrake readied a magical shield with his claw and pursued after Ateren. "You guys are on your own." Ateren gave a light whisper to the elf. "Let's head home..." He wonders if he'll be followed, but didn't want to stand idly to ponder that possibility.

A dark grin came over my face as the male Elf got struck with one of my bolts. It wasn't my intention, but these... pleasant accidents are always appreciated. That grin fell into a scowl shortly after as my gaze shifted to the almost human, though; the female Elf was clinging to him, visibly shaking.
"Kitty," She whimpered. "I'm scared..." My eyes glowed vividly as my scowl grew more pronounced.

* * *

"I'm scared..." she whimpered. I shushed her softly, before running a finger along her cheek, down to her chin with a caring smile.
"You have nothing to be fear," I cooed. My eyes glowed a gentle golden hue, reflecting slightly off my cheeks where the moonlight didn't reach. "They won't find us here. We're safe." My other hand was firmly pressing a slightly reddened cloth on her wing. "We'll stay here tonight, so your wing can heal." She gave me a soft smile, though it didn't reach her terror filled eyes. I leaned forward and touched my forehead to hers to gaze deep into her eyes. "Tomorrow morning, let's go home..."

* * *

Let's go home...

I gritted my teeth as a tear fell from my chin to the ground below. The almost human and the Elf were gone by this time, headed off to my right-- presumably for shelter. i kicked off the branch with way too much force to follow, snapping the branch entirely and causing it to fall as well. I wasn't going to let those two leave... They reminded me of--

...I'll kill them. I'll kill them both.

Aura watched all the commotion go down and didn't know what to do. She could help the poor sap that got hit with lighting but really didn't feel like it. As the party started to split up for shelter and turned around to go back to town when a branch fell on top of her head. She wouldn't have thought anything of it but under these strange circumstances caused her to look up and see someone in the canopy. She couldn't make them out as it was too dark to see. She didn't know what came over her but she just instinctively shouted "You should get out of that tree before you too get struck my lightning, if you dont have anywhere to go you can come with me, I have a place to stay in town." Aura looked back towards the path she was thinking of going "But that's none of my business, you can do what you want." She started walking towards town as the group all went different ways.

Moments later, Ferin opens his eyes again after nearly blacking out for a moment, then realizes that lightning is still crashing down on the area, and everyone had left or is running away judging from the sound of footsteps. He gave a sigh before noticing the human from before, Joseph standing beside him
"You know, I'm flattered you want to help me but you should probably get out of here and ditch that metal armor before you get hit too. Everyone left, you should too" He says lightly despite how worried Joseph might be
He then notices the branch that had fallen to the ground and the person above had gone, possibly to pursue the others
"Someone wants the head of one of the other fellows, you should probably worry about them than me" He says, standing back up and picking up his bow

My heart begins to race, I couldn't go back to the Kingdom empty handed. "W-Wait, you needed to go to Aldwin, right? I know the path back! you can stay at the inn there if you need to, or you can use my place." I say with enthusiasm. "And I'm sure the others could handle themselves, they're too far to reach anyways." I silently mumble the last part as I look around for danger. "Look, I know that you don't know me, and I'm taking a risk for someone I don't know, but please, I ask you to take a leap of faith with me."

As Elias saw everything happen, he decided to follow the dragon girl. If he had to run, he'll probably end up meeting Joseph back at the Kingdom anyways. "Hey, you know it's dangerous to go alone. Mind if I followed you?" He says with a grin. As he began to walk along the path. He began to decide his moves, hoping that he could gain her trust and know more information.

Valldrake gave Ateren a light nudge. "I suggest picking up the pace." He said to Ateren, whom gives a nod and double times it. "What do you see back there?" Ateren asked. "Everyone's kind of going a bit haywire, but we may or may not be followed. Therefore, I suggested running." He said, taking light glances behind them. He is behind Ateren and the half elf looking girl as they run home, dodging trees and making a B-line there.

I bolted through the trees after the human and the elf with blurry, tear filled eyes. Nothing was filling my mind other than my hatred and will to kill. I felt my staff cracking in my grip as I chased the two when I noticed them begin to go faster, the dragon looking back toward me periodically. I gritted my teeth as the orb at the end of my staff began glowing again. There were too many similarities around, and I fell into my mind once more...

* * *

"We need to move," I whispered, glaring behind me. "We aren't alone." The winged creature I held close to me nodded quietly, her eyes glistening in the glow of my irises.
"Why do they hate me?" She whispered. "What did I do..?" I shook my head before gazing to her. She was beautiful... I was unsure if I would be able to go through with it.
"Nothing, Aeria... they just don't like those who aren't in our clan." I sighed. "Let's run away together." She gave a soft smile before nodding once more. We then bolted for the jungle.

After what felt like hours, I looked back to the young avian.
"I think we've lost them," I said softly, my pace slowing. As I gazed at her, it felt that time began to slow as well while I fell into my thoughts. She meant so much to me... How could they want--

"Yoru, watch out!"

* * *

The sound of crashing brought be back to reality, only for me to find myself face first in the floor. I think I saw a blurry version of the Elv's boots, but... it was hard to say. My head throbbed, and the sound of whatever was falling around me didn't help whatsoever. I tried to look around, but I couldn't move my body-- every muscle burned and felt swollen, as though I were electrocuted... lumps of brown falling from the sky seemed to support that claim, as they kind of resembled branches. Did I fall?

I tried gripping my right hand to find it was empty, save for some shards of wood that were penetrating my palm. I felt a faint glow near my head, which gave a kind of purplish light to the ground my face was half buried in. I felt warm fluids trickling from various points of my body toward the ground as well as a sharp, burning feeling in my left arm. Today was clearly not my day...

Aura felt silly talking to a empty tree but she swore someone was in it. She put her embarrassing mistake behind her and started running towards town. Bright flashes of lighting still fall from the sky. 'This is some unusual weather.' she thought. As she kept running she thought she heard someone try to talk to her from behind. She stopped just to be able to make out 'mind if I follow you?'' She sighed as the body to go with the disembodied voice came into view. "If you must. We shouldn't waste time out here, unless you want to get struck by lighting? Follow me, I have a place you can stay. I sure hope the others are okay." Like she cared, she hardly knew anyone. Her curiosity got the better of her and look where she ended up. Too much happened for Aura to even consider it a fate chance meeting. This was designed, someone wanted all of them to meet each other......but who?

"Haha, damn all of you are so persistent" Ferin says, shrugging and then chuckles a little
"I'll chip in and take the chance, but if I see something I don't like then I'm heading the other way okay? Oh, and the name is Ferin. Don't forget it alright~?"
He takes a look around, and up, then nods at Joseph to lead the way... as much as he acts so light about the situation he desired to have done more, but now it's too late to help.
'What was I thinking? The way he would've handled things was... no, that's behind in the past now. I hope those bystanders are okay'  he thought to himself
